Gemma...turn your indicators off!
Achieved the last of my 3 before 30 goals yesterday. Did my CBT with Emma so now I can offically ride a motorbike. (The other 2 incidentally were learn to surf and set off a firework). Just noticed that these are all things that are tonnes of fun, but also all scare the crap out of me, certainly to start with.
Was amusing that instead of 14 years of just saying no, all my mother had to do was to send me on the first 20 minutes of CBT where they explain what happens to your body if you have an unscheduled dismount and are not wearing the right kit. I got laughed at for the look on my face, and wanted to go home more than go get on a bike! Anyways, I carried on, and was all scared and wobbly to begin with. Ems was away, she picked it up really quickly. Luckily Rick was lovely, and despite threatening to tape my foot to the pegs, was really patient. Eventually I got the hang of it, and ended up balancing and stuff pretty well.
However, as soon as I started thinking it was ok...we went on the road!!! AAAAAAAAAaaarrggghhhhh.......there is soooooooo much to think about! and it all happens so much quicker on a bike...or at least thats how it seems! We did the quiet roads around Burleigh at about 18 miles an hour! I suppose its just practice and calming down...did my manouvres ok, and did the last bit with me in front, going fast enough (acceleration, even on a 125 is 'fun').
So. We want bikes now!!! If you see two crazy chicks in leather, screaming past at 18 mph....its me and Em!!!
