Finally.... the age of the MacBook

So... finished the thesis correcting on Tuesday and sent it off to Jo. So Wednesday was ..... Apple Shop Day!!!! So, after both works, Alison navigated me to Highcross. Even the outside looks cool....

Hmmm. This is taking far too long to upload photos....especially as I haven't yet worked out a way of reducing the filesize (Mr Kimber to the rescue I hope). Its late and I need to sleep off my cough before Legoland tomorrow. Will try to edit this another time.

Its now 'another time'. And JPK has told me how to make photos small. So here goes. Hmmm distracted by MSN. Resisting urge to eat crisps...mainly cos don't want to mess up the keyboard...could be a new diet plan!
Ok..lets see if this works. I fear the photos might be too small now! OK, back to it.

Alison being all patient and understanding yet again! and this is after looking for DVD recorders in John Lewis, and before spending ages in Mac store stressing over the more expensiveness of the mac book, and about too expensive to buy cases (even though I don't like having gadgets unprotected from my stupidity and clumsiness)

OK...latest small problem with Mac fixed by using firefox instead of Safari. Right, gone midnight. Sleep now, blog later...hey that could be a t-shirt!

Think 4 days for a single post could be a record. Hopefully this will get speedier as I grasp the vagaries of Macs. Plus hopefully I've got facebook Tetris out of my system now.

Ok, so much faffing in the shop...and they weren't impressed when I took the advice of Mr Kimber and didn't want to use the wireless card machines...think being too over cautious on reflection.. I eventually got all my toys.... including a free printer..

Most expensive free rucksac ever...

Going for the new Apple way of life in a big way!!! they really know how to make offers that make you buy stuff all at once... am I a sucker, or have I saved lots???

No comments thank you !!!!

Isn't that just ultra stylish? Took my head a while to get round the change... having never really liked the white ones and wishing I could afford the shiny black one... when I finally go to buy it they've stopped making the white one (well, the middle spec) and replaced it with one piece of brushed aluminium. Nice.

If only the blog ended there... unfortunately later that night, having tidied my room and hoovered and all sorts of boring jobs I allowed myself to sit down to a play at the mac... and it wouldn't boot!!! I was so amazingly calm though. Even when I thought ok, I'll play with the ipod... and it won't let you do anything till you've plugged it into a mac! At this point it was Alison to the rescue... she kindly took it back to the Macstore on Friday and changed it for a sparkly new one (that, with prior expereicne, clearly had not been opened before). So. Now we're motoring. Thanks to JPK's tricks and thanks to firefox working the same as on the PC this should be much quicker now.

Manifold Way Walk

Had my 'day off' of the holidays yesterday. Me and Alison went for a walk in the Peak District. Was really windy on Monday when we were route choosing...so we tried to keep to valleys and woodland, out of the gale. We didn't factor in just how muddy that might make it. Oops. Bit slow going at first but some nice scenery...

and some friendly moo cows..

and some impressive hills...

..to run down..

The Pub where we planned to have lunch...

..which shut as we reached the door!!! Drat! Lucky we had emergency provisions...

The route went through Swainsley Tunnel, part of the old Leek and Manifold Vally Light Railway which ran from 1904 to 1934. Bit of a long wait if you get there at 8!!!

I always seem to get lots of photos of ducks when I go on walks with Alison. Her theory was that its because they hang around tea shops, hoping to get some cake. ....Kinda like her then?!?!!

Mission accomplished!!

Whats up Duck?

Fight...fight...fight!!!!

Right. Time to get on...must go for a run, then clean our boots in the shower!

Work avoiding again??

Darn right! Its my best skill. Jon Walker clearly knows this. This is what he drew up for me on the back of a menu in the Pub last night... was a tad scared at how much of my life he knows..

btw...click on it if you can't read it.

Feeding the animals...last one from Cromer...sorry..

See... I wasn't kidding about him lobbing biscuits...

Its an aspie pattern thing...

Alison misunderstands feeding the 'birds'... (btw...could have been worse...I could have gone for 'guys and gulls')
sorry if this next one is too gross...

Time for a few last well posed group shots on the pier...
Except we had some biscuits left so it rapidly descended into feeding the gannets again (har har).. much to the amusement of the poor bloke on the picnic table trying to have a quiet guinness...

Back to nice ones...

Cheesey grins all round!!!
Happy Bunnies
Jon noticed that the Smiley Train had been left unattended and wanted to nick it....a fine, upstanding member of the community???!?!

Finally getting fed in Dave's chippy (or something like that...please correct me someone)... the children amuse themselves quietly while waiting for the food to arrive...

Honestly though, that did keep us entertained for a good 20 minutes!!! OK....final picture of the day...at last...what an epic. TGF a wonderful day....and chips for tea hehehe.

Sunset at Cromer

This is where (in my humble opinion) the photos get pretty cool. Its all about the light!!! Am now sooo gutted I hadn't spotted the dust on my CCD earlier...hence the horrid marks on every photo. Sob.

I warn you now...there's loads of these!!! even more I've not got time to edit right now (thank goodness I hear you cry).

This one just missed the biscuit Jon was lobbing off the pier by the look of it!!

Nearly there...honest!

The 'finally made it to Cromer' Post

"Come in Aspie number one...your time is up" ...got shouted it was time to go, stumbled back up the stones with buckets and spades and camera... took the group photos from the end of the last blog then....off to Cromer!!!! Having sun-ed ourselves at Sheringham we quickly noticed that Cromer was a bit more breezy...seems Graeme found it a bit nippy...

And so began the excited run down onto the mighty Cromer Pier...and the advertised Seaside Special...

Well...Graeme was excited at least...

Surely thats me?!?!

Oi...get off my photo....

Thank you...

And lastly before the show... view from the Pier.

The show was brilliant. The two comedians the best..esp the Billy impression, and the "Hey hey" moment from the acted out 'I will Survive'. The 'stole the show' moment however has to be the completely dead pan "Its just a jump to the left" from the musical director. Can only remember the seal joke...can't even remember whichever one caused the tears to roll down Jon's face (always amusing).
